How do we know genuine faith is true?

Answered in 2 sources

Genuine faith is evidenced by an inner transformation and love for Christ, rather than mere external religious actions.

Genuine faith is confirmed through the transformation it brings about in an individual's heart and life. It is not merely intellectual assent to facts about Christ, as even demons believe (James 2:19). True faith is characterized by love for God and the ability to recognize one’s own sin and need for salvation. The Apostle Paul encourages believers to examine themselves to see if they are in the faith, emphasizing that genuine faith produces a new heart capable of loving and serving God. Ephesians 2:8-9 clarifies that salvation is a gift of God, not based on our works. Therefore, true faith will yield fruit in obedience and love as a response to God's grace.
