How do we know God is a place of refuge?

The concept of God as a refuge is central to biblical theology. In Psalms such as 46:1 and 59:16, God is described as a stronghold and fortress where believers can find safety from their enemies. The assurance that 'the gates of hell shall not prevail' against the church (Matthew 16:18) further confirms His protective nature. Believers are called to run to Him in faith, finding solace and strength against both spiritual and physical adversaries. This refuge is not merely a temporary shelter but an eternal safeguard provided by God through Christ.
