How do we know God is true?

Answered in 3 sources

We know God is true because His nature is characterized by faithfulness and trustworthiness, as revealed through scripture (John 14:6).

The truth of God's nature is affirmed throughout the Bible. In John 14:6, Jesus declares, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life.' This fundamental assertion underlines the reality that not only does God embody truth, but He also serves as the ultimate reference point for all truth. The consistent faithfulness of God, who does not lie or change, supports His identity as true. Furthermore, the experiences of believers testify to the reliability of God, as He remains a steadfast promise-keeper throughout history, including the covenantal relationships He establishes with His people. The assurance of God’s truth is essential for our faith and daily lives, providing confidence amidst uncertainty.
