How do we know God provides righteousness?

Answered in 1 source

God demands righteousness, and He provides it through Jesus Christ, who perfectly fulfills the law (Romans 8:3-4).

God, in His holiness, demands righteousness from His creation to satisfy His justice, which cannot be compromised. However, as outlined in Romans 8:3-4, God does not just demand; He also provides. In the person of Jesus Christ, who is both God and man, the law is perfectly fulfilled. Jesus lived a sinless life, bore the punishment for sin, and through His sacrifice, He established the righteousness that is credited to all who believe. Therefore, the righteousness required to stand before God is provided by God Himself through Christ, and this is central to the gospel of sovereign grace.
