How do we know God's law must be honored?

In Luke 18, Jesus reminds the young ruler of the commandments, emphasizing the importance of God’s law. God's law serves to reveal His character and standards of holiness. For anyone to inherit eternal life, they must fulfill these divine requirements perfectly, which is something no man can achieve due to the fall of Adam (Romans 3:23). This inability accentuates the necessity of Christ, who perfectly honored the law on our behalf, thus validating the importance of God's law in the salvation process.
