How do we know God's patience is for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

God's patience is evidenced in His desire that none perish and that all come to repentance, as expressed in 2 Peter 3:9.

2 Peter 3:9 reveals that the Lord is not slow in keeping His promises, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. This patience indicates God's love and mercy, providing opportunities for individuals to turn back to Him. It is a testament to God's sovereign grace, showing that He actively wants to save His people and desires that they come into a relationship with Him, rather than face judgment. The assurance of salvation we have is rooted in God's character and His promises.
