How do we know God's promises will be fulfilled?

Answered in 14 sources

We know God's promises will be fulfilled because Scripture assures us that His Word cannot fail, and His counsel shall stand (Isaiah 46:10).

God's faithfulness to His promises is a cornerstone of biblical theology. Throughout Scripture, we see assurances that God's Word will not return void, and every one of His promises will be fulfilled in accordance with His perfect timing. Isaiah 46:10 states, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose'. This encapsulates the certainty that no matter how improbable a situation may appear, God is sovereign and orchestrates all events toward the fulfillment of His divine plan. Additionally, historical events, such as the coming of Christ and the proclamation of the Gospel to the nations, serve as reminders of God's faithfulness and the reliability of His promises (2 Corinthians 1:20).
