How do we know God's Word is true?

Answered in 35 sources

We know God's Word is true because it is inspired by the Holy Spirit and is affirmed by the believer's faith, as stated in 2 Peter 1.

The Apostle Peter asserts that 'no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation' (2 Peter 1:20). This emphasizes that the Scriptures are not human inventions, but divine revelations. The Word of God is inspired by the Holy Spirit and is preserved through the ages. For believers, the confirmation of the truth of Scripture comes through the conviction of the Holy Spirit who opens our eyes to see Christ and His glory. Moreover, the fulfillment of God's promises as laid out in Scripture serves to confirm its truthfulness. Believers can rely on it as the one sure guide in a dark world.
