How do we know grace is not a license to sin?

Answered in 2 sources

Grace is not a license to sin because, as Romans 6:14 states, believers are not under the law but under grace, which empowers them to live righteously.

According to Romans 6:14-15, the apostle Paul asserts that believers are no longer under the law, thus indicating that grace should not be misconstrued as a license to sin. Instead, being under grace transforms the way believers relate to sin; they are empowered to live in righteousness. The grace of God does not encourage sin but leads to sanctification, reflecting the significant change within every genuinely converted person. Sin will have no dominion over believers precisely because they are dead to sin and alive in Christ.
