How do we know if we have a new nature?

Answered in 1 source

The presence of a desire to obey God and the acknowledgment of sin are indicators of possessing a new nature.

Determining whether one possesses the new nature involves examining one's inclination toward holiness and righteousness. In Romans 7:14-25, the Apostle Paul articulates the internal conflict experienced by believers, reflecting the struggle between the new self and the old nature. The new nature manifests itself through a genuine desire to follow God's laws and to express love towards others, as expressed in 1 John 3:9-10. If an individual recognizes their sins and desires to turn away from them, that is a strong indication of having been regenerated and possessing a new nature.
