How do we know if we have the Holy Spirit?

Answered in 1 source

A believer knows they have the Holy Spirit by their trust in Christ and the fruits of the Spirit in their life.

In Romans 8:9, it is stated that if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Him. The presence of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life is evidenced by faith and reliance on Christ rather than self-reliance. The Spirit guides us into all truth, revealing our sinfulness and Christ's sufficiency for salvation. Moreover, believers will exhibit the fruits of the Spirit and cry out 'Abba, Father,' indicating a relationship with God. The Holy Spirit's work brings about a transformation that aligns our desires with God's will.
