How do we know Jesus forgives our sins?

Answered in 4 sources

We know Jesus forgives our sins based on His promises in Scripture, particularly in Mark 2:5 where He directly states, 'Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.'

The assurance of sin forgiveness comes from the character and promises of Jesus as revealed in Scripture. When Jesus forgives the paralytic in Mark 2:5, it affirms His authority and power to deal with sin. Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross, which He accomplished intentionally for our sins, further solidifies the belief that all who trust in Him are forgiven (Romans 8:1). In the covenant of grace, God promises to forgive those who believe, making assurance of forgiveness an essential doctrine for believers.
