How do we know Jesus is compassionate?

Answered in 10 sources

Jesus shows His compassion throughout the Gospels by healing the sick and caring for sinners, exemplified in the parable of the Good Samaritan.

Throughout the Bible, we see consistent examples of Jesus' compassion. In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus tells of a Samaritan who, moved by compassion, went to help a wounded man in desperate need. This act of kindness illustrates the very nature of Christ, who embodies the compassion of God Himself. Furthermore, Hebrews reminds us that Jesus, as our high priest, can have compassion on those who are suffering because He understands our weaknesses. He did not merely sympathize with our plight but took action to help us. This ultimate compassion culminated in His sacrificial death on the cross, providing redemption and healing from the consequences of sin. It is through these acts of mercy that we see the depth of His love for humanity.
