How do we know Jesus is the promised King of Israel?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus fulfills the prophecies about the King who would come from David’s lineage.

The New Testament makes it clear that Jesus is the fulfillment of the Davidic covenant, which promised a king from David’s line to reign eternally. In Luke 2:4-11, we see the angel announcing His birth in Bethlehem, fulfilling Micah 5:2, which identifies Bethlehem as the birthplace of the ruler of Israel. Jesus’ lineage traced back to David demonstrates His rightful place as the appointed King. Additionally, John the Baptist, as mentioned in John 1:26, proclaims Jesus as the One whom the prophets spoke about, showing that not only is He the King but also the fulfillment of the promises made throughout the Old Testament, affirming that He is indeed this long-awaited King.
