How do we know Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of the sacrifices?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus fulfills the Old Testament sacrifices by being the perfect and final sacrifice for sin.

The New Testament reveals that Jesus Christ is the ultimate fulfillment of the sacrificial system established in the Old Testament. He is described as the 'Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world' (John 1:29). Unlike the repetitive sacrifices made in the temple, which were offered continually for atonement, Jesus's sacrificial death on the cross was once for all, securing eternal redemption for His people. Hebrews 10:12 states, 'But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.' Therefore, Jesus embodies the reality behind the sacrificial system, making Him central to God's redemptive plan.
