How do we know Jesus' sacrifice for sin is sufficient?

Answered in 2 sources

Jesus' sacrifice is sufficient because it fully accomplished the redemption of His people, once for all.

We know that Jesus' sacrifice is sufficient because of the biblical declaration that it accomplished our redemption. In Hebrews 10:12-14, it states that after Jesus offered one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God, indicating that His work was complete. This is further affirmed when Jesus declared 'It is finished' before dying, signifying that all that was necessary for atonement had been accomplished. Unlike the repetitive sacrifices of old, which could never cleanse, Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice effectively purged our sins, enabling our justification before a holy God. Salvation is therefore secured through His accomplished work, not left as a possibility dependent on human action.
