How do we know prayer changes things?

Answered in 1 source

Prayer changes us by aligning our will with God's, rather than changing God's mind about His eternal purposes.

Prayer is often misunderstood as a way to change God's mind, but in truth, it is primarily designed to transform us. As we commune with God through prayer, we become more aware of His sovereignty and our dependence on Him. Scripturally, we see that God has decreed events before the foundation of the world, but He also invites us to pray. For example, Ezekiel 36:37 reveals that while God has intent, He wants His people to seek Him. Thus, prayer is not about altering God’s plans but about growing in relationship with Him, resulting in a change of heart and perspective in our own lives.
