How do we know salvation is only through faith in Christ?

Answered in 5 sources

Salvation is secured through faith in Christ, which is illuminated by the Holy Spirit's teaching and results in a true understanding of His nature.

Salvation is dependent on a faith that comprehends Christ according to His true character. A mere intellectual assent to Christ, as seen in the case of Simon the sorcerer, does not equate to true saving faith. Simon believed, yet his understanding and subsequent actions illustrated that he was not truly enlightened by the Spirit of God. True faith is a work of God that grants a person a deep, transformative understanding of Christ’s nature, leading to repentance and a changed life. As John 3:36 indicates, it is those who believe in the Son who have eternal life, underscoring that genuine faith stems from a proper understanding of who Christ is.
