How do we know that believers are free from sin's guilt?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are free from sin's guilt because Christ died for sin once and bears no further guilt on them.

The assurance of believers' freedom from sin's guilt lies in the completed work of Christ. As stated in Romans 6:10, Christ died once for all sins and lives unto God. This means that the penalty for sin has been fully paid, and believers are no longer condemned for their sins. The work of redemption was accomplished entirely by Christ, and believers are viewed as righteous in Him. Because of this, they can confidently approach God, knowing they are not under condemnation. This truth assures believers that they can live free, empowered by the Holy Spirit to overcome sin’s influence in their lives.
