Christ is our deliverer because He fulfills the role of the kinsman redeemer, defeating our greatest enemy—sin and death.
The identity of Christ as our deliverer is rooted in His role as the perfect kinsman redeemer, a central theme in the proclamation of the Gospel. Just as Moses acted to protect his brethren from the Egyptians, Christ intervenes for His people against sin and the law that condemns us. By His blood, Christ has satisfied the justice of God, removing the burden of our sins and providing us forgiveness (Exodus 2:11-12; Romans 6:23). Furthermore, through His resurrection, He has defeated death, ensuring that those who are in Him have eternal life (Romans 8:1). Therefore, we recognize that His deliverance was predetermined before the foundations of the world, and we experience its effects here and now as He draws us to Himself and grants us faith.
