How do we know that Christ is our true liberty?

True liberty is found only in the Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 5:1 asserts, 'Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made you free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.' This liberty means freedom from sin's penalty and power, as Christ fulfills the law and offers us salvation through faith in Him. Isaiah 61 shows that Christ came to proclaim liberty to captives, indicating that our spiritual bondage is broken only by His sacrificial work. Therefore, true liberty is understood as being dependent on Christ rather than pursuing independence from God.
