How do we know that Christ's love for the Church is perfect?

The love of Christ for His Church is characterized by His sacrificial act of giving Himself up for her, as stated in Ephesians 5:25. This love is not based on the worthiness or performance of the Church but is unconditional, as seen through the redemptive work of Christ in calling a people to Himself. Furthermore, this love is transformative.
