How do we know that glorifying God is our primary purpose?
Answered in 1 source
The Bible states that we were created for God's glory, and fulfilling this purpose brings true joy.
Understanding our purpose to glorify God is rooted in Scripture. In John 15:8, Jesus says, 'In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.' This indicates that our effectiveness as disciples is tied to our ability to glorify God through a fruitful life. The Catechism also teaches that man's chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. This means that our actions, thoughts, and interactions should aim at reflecting God's character, which contributes to magnifying His fame and honor. As we seek to glorify Him, we also experience the profound joy and fulfillment that comes from walking in alignment with our Creator's design.
