How do we know that God doesn't love everybody?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible indicates that God's love is conditional upon being in Christ, as demonstrated in Romans 9.

Romans 9:13 states, 'As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.' This verse illustrates that God's love is particular and determined by His sovereign will. The concept that God loves everyone unconditionally is inconsistent with scripture, as God's love is directed towards those who are found in Christ. Since salvation is for the elect, it follows that God's love is not universally applied but is specifically for His chosen people, those whom He has predestined for adoption as His children.
