How do we know that God is our Father?

According to Scripture, believers can claim God as their Father through their faith in Jesus Christ. John 1:12 tells us that those who receive Christ and believe in His name have been given the right to be called children of God. This signifies that, unlike the general fatherhood of God over creation, there is a special relationship established through faith, resulting in spiritual adoption. Moreover, Romans 8:15 affirms that the Holy Spirit, given to believers, enables them to cry out to God, 'Abba, Father', thus confirming their identity as His children. This inner witness of the Spirit assures believers of their personal relationship with God.
