How do we know that Jesus comes to save sinners?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus explicitly states His mission was to seek and save the lost.

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus identifies Himself as the one who came to save sinners. In Luke 19:10, He declares, 'For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.' This truth is exemplified in the life of Bartimaeus, a blind beggar who recognized his need for Jesus’ mercy. The fact that Jesus stopped for him amidst a crowd illustrates His compassion and the sovereign grace that leads sinners to Him. For those favored by God, the recognition of their need drives them to seek Him earnestly.
