How do we know that Jesus has power over demons?

Answered in 5 sources

Jesus demonstrated power over demons by casting them out of those possessed and controlling their actions, as seen in the Gospels.

Jesus’ authority over demons is robustly illustrated in the Gospels. The account of Him exorcising the demons from the man in Gadara showcases His divine sovereignty. The demons recognized Him as the Son of God Most High and knew that they were subject to His command. This acknowledgment is echoed in multiple Gospel accounts (Mark 5:6-10; Luke 8:31), wherein the demons plead not to be sent to the abyss, revealing their awareness of His ultimate power and authority. The miraculous restoration of the possessed man reflects Christ's ability to reclaim lives from the corruption of evil.
