How do we know that Jesus is the prophet Moses spoke about?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is identified as the prophet like Moses, fulfilling the prophecy given in Deuteronomy 18:15.

In Acts 7:37, Stephen quotes Moses, who prophesied about a prophet that God would raise up from among the people. This prophet is ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who mirrors many aspects of Moses' ministry. Stephen's defense before the Sanhedrin emphasizes that Jesus should be heard and recognized as the promised one. Throughout the New Testament, Christ is seen as the ultimate fulfillment of the law and the prophets, cementing His identity as the one Moses referred to, who was to lead God's people. This directly supports the belief that Jesus is central to God's redemptive plan.
