How do we know that Jesus is the true King?

Answered in 9 sources

Scripture reveals that Jesus is the King by divine appointment, evidenced through His lineage, prophetic fulfillment, and acknowledgment by both His followers and the Jewish leaders.

Jesus is declared the true King through multiple affirmations in Scripture. In 1 Samuel 22 and throughout the Gospels, it is demonstrated that while earthly kings may hold power temporarily, God's true King reigns in the hearts of His followers. The lineage of Jesus as the Son of David fulfills the prophetic word that God would establish a kingdom through David's line (2 Samuel 7:12-16). Additionally, as seen in Matthew 28:18, Jesus declares that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him, reinforcing His position as sovereign Lord and King. His acceptance of titles reflecting His kingship, coupled with significant divine miracles and His ultimate resurrection, assert His authority and establish Him as the rightful ruler in God's Kingdom.
