How do we know that Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice?

We know Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice because His death fulfilled the requirements of the Law and the prophetic scriptures that pointed to Him. The sacrificial system of the Old Testament, including the Day of Atonement, provided a temporary covering for sin, but could not take sin away entirely. In Psalm 22, which details the suffering of the Messiah, we see a vivid foreshadowing of Christ’s own suffering and the rejection He faced. This culminated in His death and subsequent resurrection, which confirms that He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29).
