How do we know that salvation is a choice God makes?

In Reformed theology, salvation is viewed as entirely dependent upon God's choice, not human decision. As stated in the sermon, if God does not come to us and initiate the saving process, no one would be saved, as our nature is opposed to Him. The doctrine of election maintains that God selected certain individuals for salvation based on His own purpose and grace, not on any foreseen faith or merit (2 Timothy 1:9).
