How do we know that salvation is not for everyone?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that not everyone will be saved, as only Christ's sheep hear and follow Him (John 10:26).

In John 10:26, Jesus states, 'But you do not believe because you are not among my sheep.' This illustrates that there is a divine distinction between the elect and non-elect. Sovereign grace theology holds that salvation is rooted in God's unconditional election; not all are called to salvation and some are passed over due to God's sovereign will. This doctrine assures believers that their faith is the result of being chosen by God, and their salvation is not dependent on their actions or beliefs but on God's mercy and grace alone. God’s sovereignty in salvation establishes the truth that He has the authority to have mercy on whom He will and harden whom He wills (Romans 9:15).
