How do we know that salvation is secure?

Answered in 12 sources

Salvation is secure because it is anchored in God's sovereign will and the finished work of Christ, which cannot be altered.

Our assurance of salvation lies in the consistency of God's promises and the sufficiency of Christ's atoning work. In Zephaniah 3:17, the text emphasizes that 'the Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save.' This statement assures believers that God's power and intention to save transcends human doubt and sin. Furthermore, in Romans 8:38-39, Paul affirms that nothing can separate us from the love of God, reinforcing the unbreakable bond we have with Him. Our hope and security are not based on our performance, but on God's faithfulness and purpose in sealing us with the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of our inheritance.
