How do we know that we are at peace with God?

Answered in 2 sources

We know we are at peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ, as scripture affirms this truth (Romans 5:1).

Assurance of peace with God comes through the promise of scripture. Romans 5:1 states, 'Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.' This peace signifies the restoration of the relationship between God and the believer, made possible through the redemptive work of Christ. According to John Gill, this peace is a significant blessing of justification that is experienced uniquely by those in Christ. Our confidence in this peace is grounded not in our feelings or circumstances, but in the unwavering truth of God’s Word and the reality of Christ's sacrifice, which reconciles us to God.
