How do we know the Holy Spirit is at work in our lives?

The work of the Holy Spirit in our lives is evidenced by the fruit we produce and our faith in Christ.

Galatians 5:22-23 lists the fruit of the Spirit, which includes love, joy, peace, and more. These characteristics are indicators that the Holy Spirit is actively working within us. Additionally, our faith in Christ, as expressed in the gospel, is a result of the Holy Spirit's work — He grants us new life and the ability to believe. If we are seeing this fruit in our lives and trusting in Christ alone for our salvation, we can be assured that the Holy Spirit is at work in us.
