How do we know the law is good?

Answered in 6 sources

The goodness of the law is demonstrated in its purpose to reveal sin and guide believers toward righteousness.

The law is considered good because it fulfills a vital role in God's redemptive plan. In Romans 7:12-13, Paul argues that the law itself is good because it helps us to understand what sin is. It is not the law that brings death, but sin that exploits the law to bring about death in us. The law reveals our inability to achieve righteousness on our own and thus points us to our absolute need for faith in Christ, whose righteousness is credited to us. This illustrates the goodness of the law as it leads us to the grace that we find in Jesus.
