We know the peace of Christ is true because it is rooted in His promise and experienced by believers through faith and union with Him.
The authenticity of the peace of Christ is affirmed by scripture, particularly in John 14:27 where Jesus clearly states that He gives a peace that differs from that of the world. This peace is a result of our reconciliation with God through faith in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). Moreover, the internal experience of believers during hardships serves as a testament to this peace—believers often report a profound calm and strength that surpasses any human understanding, supported by the promise of God to never leave nor forsake His children (Hebrews 13:5). Ultimately, it is through trusting in Christ and His promises that we can genuinely experience this peace in our lives.
