How do we know we are called to holiness?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are called to holiness because of God's clear instructions in Scripture and the transforming work of Christ in our lives.

Our calling to holiness is firmly grounded in the Scriptures. In 1 Thessalonians 4:7, Paul declares that God has not called us to uncleanness but to holiness. This calling is not based on personal merit but hinges on the redemptive work of Christ, who empowers us to live in accordance with His will. Furthermore, the true believer experiences a change of heart that reflects a divine desire for holiness. As we grow in our faith, we become increasingly aware of our identity in Christ, which compels us to pursue a life that mirrors His righteousness. Therefore, holiness is a defining feature of our new life in Christ.
