How do we know we are God's sheep?

Answered in 3 sources

We are recognized as God's sheep because of our faith in Jesus, which arises from His calling us as His own.

According to John 10:14-27, Jesus speaks of Himself as the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep, and they hear His voice and follow Him. It is not our belief that makes us His sheep; rather, it is the sovereign work of God that calls us to faith. Jesus states that we believe because we are His sheep, showing the divine initiative in our salvation. The Father gives His elect to the Son, affirming that our status as His sheep is rooted in God's eternal purpose and grace, not in our own decisions or actions.
