How do we know we are truly in Christ?

Answered in 6 sources

We can assess our faith and relationship with Christ through self-examination and the Holy Spirit's guidance (2 Corinthians 13:5, Psalm 139:23).

Self-examination is an essential aspect of confirming our faith in Christ. As Paul instructed in 2 Corinthians 13:5, believers are encouraged to examine themselves to ensure they are in the faith. Additionally, David's prayer in Psalm 139:23 reflects a desire for divine examination: 'Search me, O God, and know my heart.' This highlights the importance of seeking the Holy Spirit's insight, acknowledging our hearts' deceitfulness, and earnestly desiring a true relationship with Christ. It is through this examination and the resulting transformation that one can have assurance of being in Christ.
