How does one become a friend of God?

To become a friend of God, one must place their trust in Jesus Christ. Romans 5:10 explains that we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son. Through faith, we are transferred from enmity to fellowship with God. This faith involves acknowledging our sinful state and turning to Christ for salvation. As believers, we are given the Holy Spirit, which produces a new heart that desires to please God and walk in His ways.
