How does salvation occur according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is a work of God, initiated by His grace and received through faith.

According to the Bible, salvation is solely the work of God's grace, wherein He gives life to the spiritually dead, enabling them to believe in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches that we are saved by grace through faith, and this is not of ourselves; it is the gift of God. The new birth transforms our hearts, leading us to trust in Christ and repent of sin. This transformation is a result of God's sovereign choice and act of regeneration, where He enables the believer to see, understand, and follow Him.
