What assurance do we have of eternal life?

Answered in 2 sources

Our assurance of eternal life comes from God's faithful promise and the completed work of Christ.

Eternal life is assured through God’s faithful promise and the finished work of Christ on the cross. In John 10:28, Christ states that He gives His sheep eternal life, and they shall never perish. This assurance rests not on our ability to maintain our salvation, but on Christ's redemptive work, which fully satisfies divine justice. Furthermore, the apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 8:38-39 that nothing can separate us from the love of God, thereby affirming the certainty of our eternal safety in Him. Thus, our hope lies in the immutability of God's covenant promises and the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice.
