What does being ashamed of Christ mean?

Romans 10:11 states that those who believe in Christ will not be ashamed. This implies that true faith in Christ naturally results in an unashamed acknowledgment of His person and work. To be ashamed of Christ means considering one's social or personal identity more significant than recognizing Him as Lord. Such shame indicates a lack of genuine belief and a failure to grasp the enormity of Christ’s sacrifice and authority.
