What does it mean that God is omnipotent?

Answered in 2 sources

God's omnipotence means He is all-powerful and able to accomplish His sovereign will without limitation.

The attribute of omnipotence expresses God's limitless power and supreme authority over all creation. In Scripture, particularly in Isaiah 40:12, we see that God measures the waters in the hollow of His hand and has the ability to govern the universe effortlessly. This omnipotence reassures believers that nothing is too difficult for God and that He can and does accomplish His purposes. In Jeremiah 32:17, we read, 'Ah Lord God! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.' This ultimate power highlights not only His ability to create and sustain but also to redeem and act in the lives of His people. Thus, Christians can trust that God is sovereignly in control, bringing His plans to fruition.
