What does it mean that Jesus is our Counselor?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus, our Counselor, provides divine wisdom and guidance for believers in all aspects of life.

Labeling Jesus as our Counselor emphasizes His role as the ultimate guide and source of wisdom for believers. Isaiah 9:6 refers to Him as the 'Wonderful Counselor', indicating that His teachings and guidance stem from divine wisdom. Unlike human counselors, Jesus knows our hearts fully and can provide accurate counsel relevant to our spiritual and personal lives. Jesus also promises that the Holy Spirit, referred to as the Comforter, guides believers into all truth (John 16:13). This underscores the importance of relying primarily on Christ for guidance rather than solely on human wisdom which may be flawed or limited. Therefore, Christians are encouraged to approach Him for counsel on all matters.
