Being a believer means having faith in the report of God's work through Christ.

A believer is someone who has placed their faith in the gospel message, acknowledging that they are sinners in need of salvation. Belief is characterized by an acceptance of God's report about Christ—His atoning work, His righteousness, and the life we have in Him. This conviction is not based on self-assurance but on an external testimony of God’s grace and the redemptive work done through Jesus, which resonates deeply within the believer’s heart.
