What does it mean to lean not on your own understanding?

Answered in 2 sources

Leaning not on our own understanding means not relying on our limited knowledge but trusting God's wisdom.

In Proverbs 3:5, we are cautioned against leaning on our own understanding. This implies acknowledging our limitations and recognizing that human wisdom is often flawed and inadequate. Instead of trying to rely on our reasoning, we are called to submit to God's infinite wisdom and perfect will. Leaning on our understanding can lead to anxiety and confusion, but when we trust God's insights and rely on His perspective, we can experience peace, knowing that He understands our circumstances fully and is working for our good.
