What does it mean to live by faith?

Answered in 9 sources

Living by faith means trusting completely in Jesus Christ for our salvation and daily journey, recognizing that our righteousness comes from Him alone.

Living by faith is a continuous act of embracing the promises of God, particularly the assurance of salvation through Christ. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. This means our entire existence, our struggles, and our victories are anchored in trusting God’s character and faithfulness. By relying on Christ’s finished work, Christians can navigate life's challenges with a sense of peace, knowing that our standing before God is guaranteed not by our efforts, but by His grace and the righteousness of Christ. Therefore, living by faith is a daily surrender to God’s will, allowing His Spirit to guide and empower us.
