What does the Bible say about angels and their purpose?

The Scripture clearly indicates that angels are an innumerable company of spirits created by God with the specific purpose of ministering to believers. Hebrews 1:14 states that they are ‘ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation.’ This reveals their role as protectors and servants for God's people, assigned to look after them throughout their lives, from conception to death.
